A brochure from HEMCO titled Innovative Modular Labs and Rooms describes the company's UniLab, ModuLab, and MobiLab units. These units feature a modular construction built to exact specifications and engineered to meet OSHA requirements for designated work areas. The brochure highlights cleanrooms, controlled-environment rooms, hazardous containment areas, isolated laboratory work areas, gauge/calibration rooms, and equipment enclosures. The units can be equipped with HEPA filters, temperature and humidity control systems, optional solid-wall or glass panels, laboratory furniture, and a variety of lighting, door, and floor options. Information: 800/779-4362.

Rudolph Technologies has expanded its existing customer support services by opening a customer support center with a centralized telephone support line. The 8000-sq-ft facility has a simulation center with a full complement of the company's products, classrooms, a central dispatching operation, expanded logistics support to improve parts ordering, and technical support. The 877/GO RUDOLPH number is available to domestic customers seeking technical support, service, or parts. Asahi/America has introduced the Type 21 kit for mounting valves to actuators. The kit, available in to 2-in. sizes, is manufactured from glass-filled polypropylene, making it a strong and corrosion-resistant component for any actuated valve package. The kit enables users to avoid modifying the valve as it interfaces with the valve's integral ISO bolt circle. In addition, it has a low profile, is easy to use and install, and does not protrude higher than necessary. Information: 877/24-ASAHI or 781/321-5409.

Monitoring the PR Index, a standard measurement system for photoresist contamination from MKS Instruments Spectra Products, provides data on residual photoresist contamination under a range of processing conditions. High levels of photoresist residue on incoming wafers can contaminate physical vapor deposition (PVD) tools, killing product and necessitating tool downtime and kit replacements. The PR Index is determined during automated process monitoring using the Spectra Resist-Torr in situ gas analyzer. The user decides the PR Index level, which triggers automatic, real-time system protection. If the index goes above acceptable levels, a warning or alarm line appears on the tool's screen. In the event of an alarm, the tool shuts down, preventing further contamination. Information: 800/227-8766 or 978/975-2350.

StockerYale offers ESD-safe fiber-optic goosenecks and ring lights for use with ESD-safe fiber-optic illuminators. Designed to meet the stringent demands of static-sensitive applications, the goosenecks and ring lights are made of an advanced fiber that delivers high-quality, shadow-free, cool, bright illumination. The accessories are suited for sophisticated microscopy and machine vision applications such as test and measurement, and character verification. The goosenecks are available in single- or dual-positional models, have a 0.19-in diameter, and use high-output 0.66 NA glass fiber. The ring lights' streamlined design makes them suitable for applications where 360° of cool, uniform illumination is required. Information: 800/843-8011.

Two upgrades for UV water treatment systems are offered by Aquafine. The performance of UV units is based on lamp intensity. Over a year of continuous operation, a typical UV lamp deteriorates, reducing the amount of UV radiation transmitted into the water stream. The company's electronic ballasts feature improved UV intensity and cool operating temperatures. The Electronic Ballast Upgrade Kit includes all necessary components for most installations and delivers a 30% power savings over a standard magnetic ballast, according to the company. The Single-Ended (SE) Lamp Upgrade Kit places the electrical connections on one end, making lamp replacement a one-person operation. SE lamps offer a self-locking mechanism that automatically centers the lamp within the quartz sleeve, producing a secure electrical connection. Information: 800/423-3015 or 661/257-4770.

A Web site from Edlon-PSI offers comprehensive information on the company's activities, product lines, technical data, and distribution network. The site contains the locations of distributors in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Technical information on the company's construction materials, chemical resistance charts, and products are also available. Other highlights include a request-for-quote feature and an on-line literature download section. Information: 800/753-3566.

Wright Williams & Kelly offers COOL Fusion, a standard library of software objects that allows the company to quickly customize the interface to a customer's specific needs. Typical objects include user log-in, customer identification, equipment type, user-defined input fields, and links to data tables and calculation engines. Additionally, the company has formed a new contract software development group to support COOL Fusion and other development projects. Information: 925/485-5711.
